Here's a link to my commentary on sectarianism and sexism in Egypt, and how both have spiked while Egyptians have turned their focus towards pressing political concerns. Both problems need to be addressed as shortcomings of society as a whole, rather than just blamed on thugs or the lower classes.
Ultimately, the social cohesion that the revolution fostered was as much of an accomplishment as the overthrow of Mubarak! If only Egyptians were protecting it as fiercely as they are protecting the revolution's political gains....
